I was poking around this afternoon on our patio taking photographs of some of the foliage that we have out there when I stumbled upon these little guys hanging out on one of the young palms of one of our plants. I quickly switched to my macro lens to get a sharper shot of the little guys.

I finally figured out the issues that I was having getting the auto-focus to work when I used my Nikon ML-L3 Remote today. Not sure exactly how, but I am not complaining. I have been wanting to do some more dramatically lit self portraits so I used my SB-600 without the umbrella for this photograph. I really like the way that it came out but I think with more practice I can get less of the shadow on my right shoulder in the future.

I took this today with the shakeitphoto application for the iPhone after Lori Jackson turned me onto it. It is a fun application that gives the comes complete with the animation of the photograph coming out of an instant camera along with the sounds effects too. With this photograph I accidentally ran the photograph through the application twice and it gave a much nicer look as well as the double border/matting effect.

These cuff links were a gift that my brother made and gave to me a few years back when I started out wearing dress shirts that required such accessories. Of course they satisfied my need at the time but the fact that they were chemistry themed made them all the better. I love them so much that they are always my go-to set when I need to wear them (I even wore them on my wedding day).
