Taking a Stab at Some Stock Photo Sites with iSyndica
I came across a link yesterday that referenced a particular photographer’s workflow for stock photography. What I found particularly interesting in the list was the distribution of the photograph to several stock photography websites with a single upload to iSyndica. This makes it particularly easy to get your potential stock photographs to several sites with a single upload.
So, determined to give it a hot, last night I registered with the iSyndica service (free plan) and then I signed up for 14 of the sites to which it distributes. The ones that I selected were:
- BigStockPhoto
- CanStockPhoto
- Crestock
- Fotolia
- Fotomind
- MostPhotos
- MyStock
- Pixmac
- YayMicro
- 123RF
- Dreamstime
- FeaturePics
- StockXPert
- Zymmetrical
The requirements for joining each of these sites were a bit different. Out of all of these websites, CanStockPhoto and StockXPert were the only two that required applications that needed to be reviewed and a few others had me take little quizzes in order to be approved.
I have already received some feedback from a couple of the websites but once I hear from all of them, I will report back with an update.

Hi Paul, maybe you are talking about my microstock workflow post. Just in case, for your readers,

iSyndica is really speeding up the process. They are going to add VeerMarketplace too. Let us know.
Cheers,
roberto
Best of luck to you Paul. I havent tried iSyndica so I would be interested in hearing more about your experience with it.
Yes Roberto. That is the post that I was referring to. I will update the entry.
Thanks Paul, appreciated!
Have you considered applying to iStock photo or possible some of the heavy hitters?
I have. I wanted to take a shot with some of the smaller guys first to get some feedback and learn the process a bit. I will step it up once I think I am ready.
Congratulations on your submissions, I’d be very interested to hear your experiences. Good luck!
Thank you Lindsey. I will be posting an update once I hear back from the final three sites that I submitted to.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for sharing this info. I’ve only done a couple of stock agencies myself, so far, and with very limited success. My problem is “making” photos, rather than just “taking” photos. Something to really work on.
Peace, Judi
