Project 365 : 210/365 – Lemon Wedges
This is another photograph that I have had in my head for a few days that I decided to give a go tonight. It also marked the first occasion that I used my SB-600 on the D700. It took a good handful of takes but I am pretty pleased with the result. Now, time to clean up the mess …

Project 365 : 209/365 – Flower
When I got home this afternoon I noticed that the sun was setting in a way over our fence that was just managing to light up this one flower in the hanging basket. I really liked how it was the only one of the bunch that was lit up so well.

Project 365 : 208/365 – Matches
I have been toying with the idea of making this photograph for a little while. I think that I can do a little better with it but I ran into a small technical issue. I did not realize that the ML-L3 remote control does not work with the D700 so I was unable to get the longer exposure that I desired without running the risk of too much shake (The only way I could trigger the shutter to release was with the built in timer and when I tried to do it, there was too much shaking going on).

Project 365 : 207/365 – Combination
While I have only had the D700 for a few days I will definitely say that its low light abilities are amazing. I took this photograph hand-held at 1250 ISO and I cannot get over home clean it is.

Project 365 : 206/365 – Pasta Salad
I have been itching to make this for a little while and I finally did this afternoon. I thought that while I made it and photographed it, I would also share the recipe. Keep in mind this is a pretty loose recipe that I got from my mother and that there is a ton of room for improvisation. Keep in mind for the best flavor, make this a day before you need it/want to have it. It needs time in the fridge to set up all of the flavors just right.
- 1lb. Whole Wheat Fusili
- 1 carrot
- 1/2 a stalk of celery
- 1 orange bell pepper
- 1/2 a block of cheddar cheese
- 1/2 block of Jarlsberg cheese
- 1 big handful of kalamata olives
- McCormick Salad Supreme Seasoning
- Whole Foods Italian Dressing
- Boil the pasta while you chop up the vegetables and the cheese (vary the vegetables and cheeses to your taste)
- Once the pasta has cooled, add the chopped vegetables and cheese
- Shake on the Salad Supreme Seasoning
- Coat all in Italian Dressing
- Mix, cover, and refrigerate
Project 365 : 205/365 – Smackfest 2010
As a new resident of the Southbay I got to experience my first Smackfest this afternoon. Smackfest is a coed beach volleyball tournament complete with costumes for each of the teams. It was explained to me as a smaller version of the well known 6-Man tournament that happens in Hermosa Beach every summer.
